NEWMONT BODDINGTON GOLD MINE TOUR. We then reboarded the bus for the tour of Newmont Boddington Gold Mine. The open cut mine adjacent to the town will shortly surpass the size of the Kalgoorlie Super Pit to become both the largest size mine and producing the most gold in Australia.
Newmont’s Boddington Gold mine is located within the Saddleback greenstone belt in Western Australia. A large gold and copper mine, Boddington is located 16 km from the rural farming town of Boddington and 120 km from Western Australia’s capital city, Perth.
Boddington is a prosperous area with agriculture, bauxite mining, blue gum plantations, viticulture, orchards, fish and marron farms and one of the world’s largest producing gold mines providing income and employment.
GoWest Tour of the Newmont Boddington Gold Mine. You will see the giant south pit, the conveyor system transferring ore to the processing plant where the grinding mills pulverise the ore and the furnace melts the gold so it can be poured into moulds.

I thought the Gold mine was a great place to visit on the tour bus and is well run with lots of good information from our guide the scenery around the Boddington area is wonderful and a great place have a rest and relax in the town of Boddington it’s self.
