Captain of Dragoons is still the only book I’ve ever read on this war. As a result, I’m not sure I can comment with much authority on Welch’s historical accuracy. However, I was impressed by the sheer level of detail Welch included; as an author myself, I know it takes meticulous research to flesh out a historical setting so thoroughly.
