My suicide attempt story is like many other suicide attempt stories, I’d imagine. It beings with an unrelenting mental illness (bipolar disorder), goes on to include painful events outside of my control and ends in an attempt on my life.

Disclaimer: this was almost twenty years ago. I honestly can’t say nowadays whether it was a genuine suicide attempt, or the quintessential ‘cry for help’, since I can barely recall my own state of mind at the time. 1994 had been a very, very bad year.
