In the book by Johann Wyss, Mr and Mrs Robinson had four sons with them, although in the Disney movie there were only three. (Jack was the boy left out by Disney).3I can’t find any reference to the names of the father and mother, who were a Swiss pastor and his wife, but their four sons were Franz, Fritz, Ernest and Jack. The book is written in the first person by the father who refers throughout the book to “my wife”. Because of the title of the book, the family in later televised or film version were called Robinson, but I think that, given that the family were German speaking Swiss, this is unlikely.
